Mari Vineyards

Mari Vineyards bar with big mosaic art.

Let me tell you about our experience at Mari Vineyards in Traverse City – it was a true adventure from start to finish! My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday morning as soon as they opened to kick off our anniversary weekend after breakfast at The Red Spire. As soon as we arrived, we were enchanted by the charm and beauty of the Old Mission Peninsula. And then we stepped into Mari Vineyards with their exquisite.

Their tagline “Mission meets innovation” is more than just a catchy phrase – it’s a testament to the incredible winemaking techniques they use to create some of the most delicious wines we’ve ever tasted. And let me tell you, we’ve tasted a lot of wines in our time!

We were greeted warmly by Caitlin, one of their newer servers who’s been there for about six months. She gave us a rundown of all Mari’s wines and their taste profiles, and we were immediately impressed by her knowledge and enthusiasm. She even told us about the extensive training that all the servers undergo to ensure they’re up to speed on every aspect of Mari’s winemaking process. Talk about dedication!

But the real showstopper was the massive mural behind the bar, made entirely from wine corks. It depicted a beautiful sunset that took our breath away. It was like we were sipping wine in the middle of a work of art.

And speaking of wine, the selection at Mari Vineyards is truly impressive. We had the opportunity to sip through a variety of wines with a flight, and each one was better than the last. The prices were reasonable, too, which is always a plus.

But the cherry on top (or should I say, the grape on the vine?) was the incredible view of the bay from the tasting room. We cozied up by the fire and took in the stunning scenery while sipping on our favorite wines.

We left Mari Vineyards with a newfound appreciation for the art of winemaking, and we’re already planning our next visit. We can’t wait to do a drop-in to a production floor and wine cave tour. Mari Vineyards, you’ve stolen our hearts (and our taste buds) – we’ll be back for more!
