Daily Dose 3.19.23

Casey Kolp with a friend celebrating St. Patrick's Day in a bar.

It looks like the weather gods have yet again decided to play a cruel joke on the folks in the Metropolitan Detroit area by delivering another week of frigid temperatures. It’s like they’re saying, “Oh, you thought spring was here? Psyche! Here’s some colder for ya!” I mean, come on, can we catch a break here?

But hey, at least there was St. Patrick’s Day to look forward to, am I right? Our friends Leah and Joe dragged us to the local watering hole, Shores Inn, to celebrate. And let me tell you, I was rocking my silver sequin shirt like it was the last party on Earth. That bad boy has been my go-to all season, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I’m pretty sure I’m single-handedly keeping the sequin industry afloat at this point.

Now, I’m not one to partake in the green beer shenanigans, but I did indulge in a few pints of Guinness. I mean, it’s practically a national holiday. You can’t drink Guinness on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s like a law or something.

Unfortunately, my week at the ER has been busier than usual, and let me tell you, creativity has not been at its peak. I’m pretty sure I’ve been functioning on autopilot this entire week. So, I’m definitely looking forward to recharging my batteries this upcoming week because my brain definitely has too many tabs open.
